Vintage 1941 Hawthorne Comet Ballooner Bicycle was manufactured by HP Snyder / Rollfast and sold at Wards Department stores. This Gem was a Full Patina Rescue Plus, the Client brought this wonder full bike to me covered in house paint and after considering the costs of full restoration I suggested a Patina Plus Restoration. The Patina Plus is a Lux Low Process that recovers original paint and through a ugly repaint, often with the result is a Unique Distressed Look.

This old 1941 Hawthorne Comet Cruiser Bike has seen some serious action, acquiring paint, scratches, scrapes, scars and when I found this beast I knew it was a 911 Lux Low call to bring her back to life. The Comet was one of Ward’s Hawthorne Upper Line Bikes and this particular one was made by H.P. Snyder “aka Rollfast” for Wards Department Stores.

Vintage 1938 Hawthorne 5 bar Prewar Cruiser Bike with an interesting ,oddly unique, and rare Twinbar design frame. This Hawthorne was made by the Monark bicycle company for the Wards department stores and from research it appears this bike was only sold in 1938. This rare Ballooner bike featured a 5 bar monark design interesting lugs and bottom bracket.
