Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works, famous for there iconic Truss Bridge Bicycles and Fire Arms, were built in Fitchburg Massachusetts from the late 1890s till they closed their doors in the 1940s. This Wards Hawthorne Fixed Gear Racer was made by DP Harris Manufacturing from the 1930s. She’s a Wonderful, Old Bike that’s seen some use. Just like anyone in their mid 70′s, her Frame has Few Dents that Show Age and Character. The Bicycle has Track Bike Drop Outs, a Cool Patina and was Restored as Found. She’s Totally Rebuilt and Ready to Ride Daily in Style with New Deep v Burl Wheels.

This 1927 Iver Johnson Chater Lea Special Racer is the Holly Grail of Iver Track Bicycles and Glorifies Iver’s Commitment to Racing. Iver Johnson has a deep rich history in track racing, most notably known for the African American Racer Marshall Walter “Major” Taylor. Major Taylor had a dominant career in Track Racing and became the second Black Athlete, in any sport, to win a world title. This Top of the Line Bike has Special Chrome-Mo-lib-den-um cold drawn seamless steel tubing an is adorned with Special Chatter Lea Hanger and Hubs. This Vintage Iver Johnson Arch bar model 90 Road Racer Bike is a road worthy version of the Iver’s Special Racer Track Bicycle. This Drop Bar Model 90 was intended for street use and featured Iver’s strengthened Truss frame, which Iver’s commonly know slogan was ” Trust the Truss “. This street worthy version of their racing models came with stronger equipment and a coaster brake for ease of use and durability for the common road rider.
