This Stylish bike is a 1915 Wards Hawthorne Deluxe Motorbike that was made by Arnold Schwinn & Company. There are a few years in the mid to late teens that Schwinn supplied bicycles to the Wards Department stores to be badged their house brand ” Hawthorne “. Early Schwinns are not very common nor are Schwinn built Hawthornes thus making this bike quite a find. This Hawthorne Bike has some original paint, lots of patina, a total rebuild, and a New Patina Lux Low 28″ wheel set with better than original performance.

1914 Antique Crown wood wheel Bike made by the Great Western Manufacturing Company La Porte, Indiana U.S.A.. This Old Crown bike has a Wonderful Unique Ornamental frame that’s Beauty stands out compared to other plainer diamond frames of the time. Great Western Manufacturing Company was formed in 1898 as the result of a merger between four other cycle companies: David Bradley, J. Lonn & Sons, Adams-Westlake Companies of Chicago and the Crown Bicycle Works of La Porte. It Was Quoted that the Great Western Company was second largest in the country, being eclipsed only by the American Bicycle Company.

The Racycle Boasts the performance of their unique bottom Bracket. Miami also made Flying Merkel Bicycles. Miami / Racycle bikes are rare and highly sought after and come with superior quality and craftsman ship. From Research I place this Racycle Tourist from around 1913.

The Racycle is Miami Cycle’s Top of the Line Bicycle and the Pacemaker was the best of best of the Racycle line. Although this Pacemaker was the top of the line, it is well used and has evolved into quite an old boy telling a story of its many years of service. The Hanger Mechanism is the New improved Hanger offered in 1911 and the bike is from 1912. Bike is restored as Found to Preserve it’s Story of an Old Track Racer, although is not Catalog Correct, it’s a Amazing Old Rare Bicycle of the Time!
