Vintage Masi Gran Criterium Reynolds 531 Steel RoadBike

14th March 1974 (No Comments)

The Masi Gran Criterium of the 1970s is a exquisite racing machine that is highly sought after among vintage bicycle enthusiasts. The Gran Criterium is a vastly appreciated model from Masi made with hand cut lugs and Reynolds 531 Steel tubes, adorned with Campagnolo Record Parts & 27″ x 1 1/4″ Wheels. This Bicycle is as found and would be a great addition to a collection or a Retro Rider.

This is a nice vintage bike, but the parts are too nice compared to the Frame set. I suspect the previous owner realized the significance of the frame set and rebuild it with the best parts it they could find. Frame is a Used Original Paint US Version Gran Criterium, Shows wear & use, has some scratches & touch up. But in my opinion Far Better than a repaint. I believe the bike is considered a 61cm from the serial, but it measures 59cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top tube or 60.5cm Center to Top of the top tube. The top tube is 57.5cm center to center and the head tube is 172mm tall. Specs say frame Frame and Fork are Reynolds 531 Steel Tubing but there are no decals. The bike has Campagnolo Record Parts: Nuovo Record Front and Rear Dérailleurs, Shifters, Bottom Bracket, Brakes & Levers. Headset & Cranks are Super Record. It has a Leather Brooks Saddle, and Cinelli Stem and Handlebars. The 27″ x 1 1/4″ wheels have Campagnolo Record High Flange Hubs laced to Super Champion Competition Gentleman Rims. The Serial # MC 61 07 XX is on the bottom bracket and dates the bike around 1975 and a 61cm. This is a Cool Bike, A Iconic Original Paint Frame set with nicer and some later parts, Although I Kinda Consider this one of my Personal bikes but everything is for sale. Enjoy.
