Beautiful 1983 Nishiki Medalist Road Bicycle, Made in Japan, Hand Crafted by Kawamura, with High Quality Champion # 1 Chrome Molyboen Butted Tube Tange Steel. This 1983 Japanese made Medalist was marked in the US as a High Quality Road Bike, It is a fine racer, Far superior to the droves if other Nishiki’s I have had before. I acquired this bike as a frame and fork, I suspect it was adorned with Suntour Suberbe back in the day.

The founder James Parkes of James Parkes and Sons started producing bicycle frames and fittings in 1895. Parkes and Sons turned into ” The Sun Cycle Fitting Company ” Producing Bicycle and Motor Cycle Frames and Fittings. F.C. Parkes Grand son of James was responsible of the Development of Parkes Lightweight Bicycles.
