This 1927 Superior Truss Bridge Roadster is a Classic example of the Style and Beauty to be expected from Iver Johnson Bikes. Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works, famous for their iconic Truss Bridge Bicycles and Firearms, were built in Fitchburg Massachusetts from the late 1890s till they closed their doors in the 1940s. Iver Johnson Bicycles are amazing machines with gun smithing quality and detail. Iver Johnson’s are unique with proprietary parts like no other, this adds to there value and rarity. This Iver Superior Truss Bar Roadster also called a Model 88.

Bicycle Hubs are the Hearts of your Wheels and We are constantly rebuilding and restoring Vintage Bike Hubs for use on our Lux Low Wheels and Bicycles. The argument can be made that not much has changed with bicycle hubs, still an axle, bearings, and a shell and most of the Greater Innovations have been braking and multiple Speeds. The Earliest Rear Hubs were Fixed Gear and crude Decelerators were added to Fixed hubs around 1896. The First True Coaster brakes showed up around 1898. I would say the innovation of the coaster brake was the largest contribution to the Bicycle hub through time, although other inventors would surely have an argument for that.

The Racycle was the top of the line bicycle made by The Miami Cycle & Manufacturing Co. out of Middletown Ohio. Miami Cycle & Manufacturing Company produced high quality Bicycles from the 1990s to the 1920s. The Racycle boasted its unique hanger that provided better balance. You can credit Miami Cycle to be one of the great over designers of the time but that uniqueness also make them so collectible. As a collector your will most likely look past many Miami Bicycles until you are a True Connoisseur and then the Miami Cycle will be on the fore front of your collecting.
