1941 Firestone Bull Nose Cruiser Prewar Colson Tank Bicycle $2300

This 1941 Firestone Bullnose Cruiser Bike has great Patina and Character to match it’s age. This Prewar bicycle was made by Colson Corp. Elyria, Ohio for the Firestone Tire Department Stores. It’s a Rare Bicycle and was only in Production about one year, Pre World War 2, and did not resurface after the war. 1940 and 1941 were great years for Amazing Ballooner bikes, I easily feel that Colson made some of the Best Bicycles out those years, even rivaling the absolute Quality of Schwinn Bikes. This Bicycle has Incredible Style and Design and is Highly Sought after by Collectors. Antique 1919 Simmons Hardware Autocycle Wood Wheel Bicycle $1300

This Vintage 1919 Autocycle Motorbike was the Top of the Line Bike offered from the E. C. Simmons Hardware Stores. Simmons Hardware was founded by Edward Campbell Simmons in the 1870s in St. Louis, Missouri and grew to a highly successful nationwide hardware chain. Simmons hardware flourished up until 1922 when it was acquired by Winchester Repeating Arms Still Badged Simmons and then acquired by Shapleigh Hardware Company in 1940 Most Likely no longer Simmons but Badged Shapleigh. Simmons Hardware offered few different Bike models and parts to go with them. Some Later Simmons Bicycles were made by Colson Corporation, but this early one remains a mystery, to the best of my knowledge it is made by Michigan City Excelsior. Simmons was a well trusted hardware store and sold a lot of bikes that are unique with quality construction.

Vintage 1941 Wings Marathon Ladies Ballooner Bicycle, made by Colson Corporation Elyria, Ohio. The Wings Marathon Line, and or Badged Bikes were sold in the Goodyear Tire Stores. The Wings Marathon was Goodyear’s third tier bike line, sold as a Economic bike, that was fully equipped and less expensive as the top two lines. Economic usually meant the lack of bright chrome and more painted parts.

1941 Goodyear Clipper Tank Ballooner Bike made by Colson Corp.

Vintage 1941 Goodyear Double Eagle Clipper Ballooner Bicycle, made by Colson Corporation Elyria, Ohio. Goodyear Double Eagle Bikes were Goodyear’s Top of the line bike (SUPER DELUXE) and were sold at the Goodyear Tire Department Stores. This Unique Bike was designed by industrial artist Wilbur Henry Adams for Goodyear. Goodyear felt that Adams’ talent for unique bicycle design would compliment Goodyear’s Quality and give great appeal to their customers. The Clipper is an Amazing example of Design and Innovation that was built and marketed in 1940-1941 right before World War 2.
