Vintage 1899 Spalding Racer / Roadster Fixed Gear Track Bicycle is an amazing machine adored with all the innovations of the times. Albert Goodwill Spalding began his sporting career as a Baseball pitcher and later founded A. G. Spalding & Brothers a sporting goods company. During the late 1880s and 1890s, A.G. Spalding produced several different bicycle models and sponsored a racing team to help advertise its cycles. This 1899 Model 1322 Mens Racer Bicycle was Spalding’s top of the Line Track Racing Bicycle interred in to the 6 Day Races. In 1899 Spalding purchased the concerns of over 48 bicycle manufacturers, then sold them to the American Bicycle Company, forming a trust in an effort to reduce overhead and improve slumping sales. Spalding Bicycles have incredible Beauty and Design and hold a predominant part of Sporting Goods and Cycling History.¬†

¬†This 1899 Model 1322 Mens Racer Bicycle has been Lux Low Patina Restored and Totally Rebuilt. The Patina finish blends what is original paint and what someone attempted as a partial restoration, This is an amazing bike but honestly some one before me messed with portions of paint and we had to patina blended it for a better out come, Seriously saved. The bike has Spalding Swaged Straight Pull / Tangent laced Hubs that are rebuilt with original spokes to a Front 28 hole hub and rear 32 hole fixed gear rear hub. The Wood Rims are amazing originals with a Patina Finish with white reproduction 28″x1 1/2″ tires. The Bike has Real Nice Original Spalding Parts: Very Unique Cranks, Sprocket, and Bottom Bracket, Rat Trap Pedals, Handlebars, Grips, Headset, Stem, Seatpost. The Christy Saddle is Patina Restored. The bike has a Block Chain and Very Unique Spalding Chain Adjusters. The Badge and Bike is after 1899 which makes it a ABC American Bicycle Company Trust Bike. The Parts on the Bike are Original Spalding still making the bike All Spalding unlike how some ABC Bikes, but ABC Mutts didn’t really appear till around 1903. The Bike Model is 1322 which makes it is a 22″ Frame. For a Second I thought it may be a Roadster but given the Colors, Wheelbase, and Fork rake I deducted a Racer. Some of the external parts say Roadster but options were available for those choices. This is an Amazing Turn of the Century Racer with Unique Components although completely rebuilt, I would say she is more of a show piece than 100 year old Rider.
