Bicycle Hubs are the Hearts of your Wheels and We are constantly rebuilding and restoring Vintage Bike Hubs for use on our Lux Low Wheels and Bicycles. The argument can be made that not much has changed with bicycle hubs, still an axle, bearings, and a shell and most of the Greater Innovations have been braking and multiple Speeds. The Earliest Rear Hubs were Fixed Gear and crude Decelerators were added to Fixed hubs around 1896. The First True Coaster brakes showed up around 1898. I would say the innovation of the coaster brake was the largest contribution to the Bicycle hub through time, although other inventors would surely have an argument for that.

It’s been a while since LuxLow has been on the road swapping and picking bikes, but with this years Cheap Gas Prices we had to take the show on the Road. Previously we had abandoned swaps due to High Gas Prices and the INTERWEBS and the Salty Swappers they Produce. Come on People, You can get value from ebay if you take out the 15% for fees, the 20% for your time listing and shipping, 5% for cash, and throw in another 5% for being Social and getting off your ass. We sell a ton on ebay. yet this is a good formula for local swap sales. Enough with the Rant, whether swaps are a dieing breed or not, they are fun, and my favorite shopping, bike people are characters and we are always amazed to see something we have never seen before. Good Times.

The Racycle was the top of the line bicycle made by The Miami Cycle & Manufacturing Co. out of Middletown Ohio. Miami Cycle & Manufacturing Company produced high quality Bicycles from the 1990s to the 1920s. The Racycle boasted its unique hanger that provided better balance. You can credit Miami Cycle to be one of the great over designers of the time but that uniqueness also make them so collectible. As a collector your will most likely look past many Miami Bicycles until you are a True Connoisseur and then the Miami Cycle will be on the fore front of your collecting. This is recent haul of Miami Cycle Racycles, Some eye candy you can expect to see patina restored to LuxLow.Com in the Future. Enjoy
