This is an Antique, Columbia, Westfield Ladies Safety Bicycle with a Nice Cad Metal Covered Wooden Rims. She’s an Elegant, Old, Bicycle, Restored as Found with Patina intact. From My Research, I Believe it to be a Columbia Westfield and maybe Considered a Safety Bicycle from early 1900′s to the early 1930′s. The Seat Tube Decal is Pope Westfield Mfg.

Vintage Iver Johnson Arch Bar Fixie Bicycle from the Early 1900s. The Arch Bar or Truss Frame gained Iver Johnson much strength notability, and was marketed with the slogan ” Trust the Truss “. Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Fitchburg Massachusetts was originally a gunsmith who started business around the time of the civil war.

1914 Antique Crown wood wheel Bike made by the Great Western Manufacturing Company La Porte, Indiana U.S.A.. This Old Crown bike has a Wonderful Unique Ornamental frame that’s Beauty stands out compared to other plainer diamond frames of the time. Great Western Manufacturing Company was formed in 1898 as the result of a merger between four other cycle companies: David Bradley, J. Lonn & Sons, Adams-Westlake Companies of Chicago and the Crown Bicycle Works of La Porte. It Was Quoted that the Great Western Company was second largest in the country, being eclipsed only by the American Bicycle Company.

This Vintage Fixed Gear Racing Bicycle was a modeled after Major Taylor’s own Track Bicycle. This Roadster featured light steel tubing and designs specified by Taylor himself, The Truss Bridge was added to the frame for durability for off track street use. This Frame gained Iver Johnson much strength notability, know as ” Trust the Truss “. Major Taylor is a Famous Black Racer out of the 1890′s, who endured racial criticism ( often banned from American races ), but still rose to the top of the racing ranks. Major Taylor’s racing career flourished in Europe ( where sportsmanship out weight racism ) in the early 1990s winning the majority of races he entered. Taylor’s Success and sponsorship by Iver Johnson greatly helped the success Iver Johnson Bicycles.

Getting the Shaft! This Beautiful Wood Wheel Shaft Drive Bike was made by Pope Manufacturing in the year 1900 and was known as a Columbia Model 65. I can’t even begin to tell you how Excited I was to Patina restore this Gem and that getting the Shaft now has good meaning. Now coming out of the Gay 1890s Bicycle Boom, Pope and a Few other Manufactures were hedging bets on the Chainless or Shaft Drive Bicycle to be the next best Innovation to boost sales
