This Bicycle is a Show Stopper that’s Totally Rebuilt, Mechanically Superb, and a Beautiful piece of History. This 1965 Schwinn Deluxe Stingray Bicycle Could Be put on a Pedestal or Ridden on a Daily Basis.
This 1965 Deluxe Lime is a Highly Sought after Early Schwinn Stingray. The Earlier Models were Crafted with More Chrome and Unique Colors, thus Making the first Few Years on Stingrays Extremely Desireable to Collectors. Not only were they Beautiful, Rare Bikes, I Find them to be Some of the Best Riding Stingrays ever made. This 1965 Deluxe is even More Desirable With the Unique 2 Speed Bendix and Front Hand brake. It has a Beautifully ReChromed Original Crank, Stem, Kick Stand, Rear 1965 razor Fender and Brace, Seatpost Clamp, and a Rare 1965 High Loop Sissy Bar. It has a Super Nice Original Front Fender, and Sprocket. It has a New, Reproduction Seat post, Handle bars, and Pedals. The Seat is an Original Schwinn, Pearsons Remade, Deep White Tufted Seat With an NOS Reflector. The Schwinn White Chub Grips and Weinmann Brakes are Really Nice Originals. The Chain is New and this Bicycle is assembled with Correct Hardware in Stainless Steel. The Front Wheel is an Original Rebuilt a Schwinn Script Front hub Laced with Stainless Steel Spokes to an NOS S-7 Rim with an NOS 20″x1 3/4″ Goodyear Eagle 134 Whitewall Tire. The Rear Wheel is a Rebuilt Bendix Blue Band 2 Speed Overdrive hub Laced with Stainless Steel Spokes to a Sweet Original S-2 Rim with an NOS Kelly SpringField “Smoothie” ( Super Big with a Square Profile) 20″x2.125″ White wall Slick Tire. The Bendix Blue Band Overdrive Hub is a Unique Coaster Brake Hub that has 2 Speeds, allowing you Start out in One Gear and with a slight back pedal (with out Braking ) it Shifts to a Harder Gear so you can Go Faster. When you hit the Brake, the Hub Resets. Pretty Cool. These Bendix 2 Speed hubs were Deluxe Options on Certain Stingrays and make them some of the Rarest and Unique Stingray Bicycles.
