The founder James Parkes of James Parkes and Sons started producing bicycle frames and fittings in 1895. Parkes and Sons turned into ” The Sun Cycle Fitting Company ” Producing Bicycle and Motor Cycle Frames and Fittings. F.C. Parkes Grand son of James was responsible of the Development of Parkes Lightweight Bicycles. Eventually Sun Cycle Fittings was absorbed the the British Bicycle Giant ” Raleigh ” in the 1960s.
