14th April 1930 ()
This Wards Hawthorne Fixed Gear Racer was made by DP Harris Manufacturing from the 1930s. She’s a Wonderful, Old Bike that’s seen some use. Just like anyone in their mid 70′s, her Frame has Few Dents that Show Age and Character. The Bicycle has Track Bike Drop Outs, a Cool Patina and was Restored as Found. She’s Totally Rebuilt and Ready to Ride Daily in Style with New Deep v Burl Wheels.
The Frame is 53 cm Center to Top Bar making it a Smaller Bicycle Probably fitting someone 5’3″ to 5’11″. Although this bicycle has Track Drop Outs, I’m unsure if it actually has track bike Geometry. These are Original, Antique Drop Bars, Stem, Headset, Bottom Bracket, Crank, Sprocket, and Seat Post and are all Rebuilt. The Bike has a Vintage Brooks Saddle well Broken in and the Wheels are Simulated Burl Wood 700c Velocity Deep V Rims Laced to an Origin8 Flip-Flop Hub with Sealed Bearings. The Tires are New Flame Tread 700x23c. It’s a Fixed Gear Bicycle that would’ve had Real Wood Wheels in its Day, but Today is a Mesh of Old Charm and New Style. There she Is. A Real Head Turner. A Cougar perhaps? Either way, She’s A Fantastic, Antique, Fixie Racer Ready to Ride Daily.
