Early 1900s Antique Lake View Cycle Company Wood Wheel Bike. The Lovely Badge may be the only story to tell “Lake View Cycle Company 3255 N. Clark St. Chicago” After much research I found nothing, not even in the Wheelman lists. I Believe this LVC Bike to be a made from early 1900′s to around 1918 and most likely a small bike Manufacture in Chicago surviving the down turn in the bicycle industry after the Gay 1890s Bicycle Boom. Chicago was home to many small Manufactures in the early 1900s as well as Larger Arnold Schwinn & Co. Most Likely Lake View Cycle Company did not survive through the teens: as the bikes of this era were quite plain effecting consumer excitability & sales, the fact mass amounts of poorly made bicycles were being made flooding the market, and the fact that the ABC “Bicycle Trust” was trying top monopolize the bicycle market in the economic down turn.
